“We know that violence against women is not confined to any class, race or creed. In this work I wanted to redraw the “universal” in such a way that, even though we are witnessing particular cases we are forced to reflect on the values in our own culture and society rather than merely distancing ourselves from this problem as something that happens to ‘others’ or in ‘other cultures’.”
